Former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George has been appointed as the new head coach of Port Harcourt based club, Rivers United.
The media officer for Rivers Angels, Trendy Faith made the announcement that the club will be unveiling the manager on Thursday, July 4 2024.
It would be recalled that the 54-year-old resigned his position as the manager of the Super Eagles just a month after being appointed, following a devastating start to the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Finidi played two 2026 World Cup qualifiers matches, first ended in a draw against South Africa and the second, a shock defeat to Neighbours, Benin Republic.
The former Enyimba United coach will take over the reign at the Nigeria Premier Football League club following Stanley Eguma’s sacking after a disastrous campaign towards the end of last season.
