A truck conveying some supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja was said to have crashed on Monday leaving several injured on Monday.
The supporters were on their way to the Supreme Court Complex located in Central Area when the truck conveying them fell.
The accident occurred shortly after the protesters left their campaign headquarters in Maitama. According to report, the truck, which was carrying about 30 persons, attempted to forcefully make a u-turn at Transcorp Hilton junction but fell to its side.
The opposition party had embarked on the protest against a supreme court verdict that sacked Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo state on Tuesday.
The apex court held that Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was the winner of the March 9 governorship election in the state — A verdict that was rejected by the PDP.
