Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said he would have gotten a third term in office if he wanted.
Obasanjo said his decision not to run for a third term was because he never wanted it.
While having an interview with News Central TV on Thursday, the former president said some ex-governors in his administration also wanted a third term.
He said the governors were waiting for him to make the first move before they also joined him in seeking a third term in office.
In his words:
“If I had wanted a third term, I would have gotten it. I didn’t want a third term. I know some governors working for this, believing that if I, as president, got a third, they would also get it.”
