Forward player Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles experienced a significant financial boost, pocketing 186 million naira after netting a goal in a Serie A match against Udinese on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Osimhen’s goal, marking his 15th of the season, secured his bonus from Napoli, a pre-season agreement made before the commencement of the 2023/24 season.
As reported by Napoli Online, the Nigerian footballer was entitled to a £125k bonus for reaching the milestone of 15 goals in the league.
Despite tallying 17 goals across all competitions this season, Osimhen’s league goal count is slightly lower than the previous season’s.
However, this discrepancy can be attributed to missed games due to injury and international duty with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Additionally, the 25-year-old made history by matching Gonzalo Higuain’s record in the Serie A for Napoli.
He joined an elite group as the third player in the club’s history to score against the same opponent in six consecutive games.
